These Terms govern your use of the Scanbar mobile application ("the App") provided by Briavent Ltd. ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
These Terms apply in addition to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA).
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal purposes on any Apple device you own or control. This license does not include the right to:
The App is provided free of charge. To sustain development, the App displays advertisements through Google AdMob. You may control ad personalization through iOS tracking settings. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements.
You are solely responsible for the data you scan, generate, or store using the App. All data is stored locally on your device. We have no access to your scan history, generated codes, batch reports, or settings.
Product data displayed when scanning barcodes is sourced from Open Food Facts, a public collaborative database. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of this information. Do not rely on this data for medical, dietary, allergy, or safety decisions.
The App, including its design, source code, icons, and branding, is the property of Briavent Ltd. and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws of Bulgaria and the European Union.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
This does not affect any mandatory consumer rights you may have under EU law, including Directive 2019/770 on digital content.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for fraud, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable EU or Bulgarian law.
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have rights under applicable consumer protection laws that cannot be waived by contract. Nothing in these Terms affects those rights. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and mandatory consumer protection laws, the mandatory laws prevail.
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the App or legal requirements. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance. For material changes, we will provide notice through the App.
We may terminate your license to use the App if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, you must stop using the App and delete all copies. Termination does not affect your rights as a consumer under EU law.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Bulgaria. For EU consumers, mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence apply where they provide greater protection.
In the event of a dispute, we encourage you to contact us first at info@briavent.com. EU consumers may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.
